A bit about us.
Julian Jenkins
Founder & Chief Strategic Sensemaker
Julian loves working with people, organisations and communities to address strategic and other complex challenges. Together with his team and a network of like-minded creative associates, Julian delivers high quality processes aimed at aligning leaders, finding a way through complexity, and enabling purposeful action.
With a PhD in German History, Julian initially thought his skills of turning complex ideas into engaging and understandable narratives were best suited to humanities academia. However, over 20 years under his belt working in strategy at pioneering Australian strategic design agency Second Road and then at technology giant Accenture proved that his skills might have value in the real world too.
These days, Julian excels at simplifying complex ideas and information, navigating fuzzy upfront spaces, lifting the level of strategic thinking, strengthening partnerships and stakeholder relationships, reframing problems and opportunities from a customer perspective, and conceptualising complex operating models and ecosystems.
Emma Osis
Strategy Designer
Emma joined The Upfront Thinking Company in 2021 to build her skills as a strategist and innovator, and learn about the complex challenges that organisations face today.
Coming from a background in marketing and partnerships for a digital skills training organisation, Emma understands first-hand the challenges that the future of work poses for many organisations. She’s partnered with companies like KPMG, PWC, Westpac and Sydney Opera House to help them elevate their skills and prepare for digital transformation.
Emma also has a keen interest in social innovation, a theme which she explored through a Masters in Peace and Conflict Studies (in particular, the potential of technology-led innovation for humanitarian and social purposes). She now shares that passion regularly at UNSW, where she teaches at the Centre for Social Impact.
